Solo Opera is excited to present a free holiday multi-cultural outreach project at the Concord Library entitled Lucinda y las Flores de la Nochebuena (Lucinda and the Flowers of Christmas Eve). The story is based on the Mexican folktale about the first poinsettia. In preparation for producing the full opera in 2025, the opera company and a Concord librarian will be sharing some highlights from the show as well as reading the book version by Tomie dePaola- The Legend of the Poinsettia in both English and Spanish. Mezzo-soprano, Leandra Ramm, will be performing a couple selections from the show and leading the audience in a sing-along. Families and kids will also enjoy making a poinsettia craft and a chance to win some prizes.

Leandra Ramm (mezzo-soprano) has appeared with San Francisco Symphony in Ecstacy at SoundBox, and soloist in both Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Bach’s Magnificat.
