Swedish National Day Celebration
The Consulate General of Sweden and Church of Sweden in San Francisco invite you to celebrate Sweden’s National Day on June 6 at the Palace of Fine Arts.
Musical performance by mezzo soprano Leandra Ramm and Ragnar Bohlin and speech by Consul General Barbro S. Osher. Swedish folk dancing by a visiting Swedish ensemble under the direction of Britt-Mari Westholm and Bengt Mård.
The Swedish dancers’ costumes are inspired by a collection of intricately costumed dolls that are part of the Hearst Museum collection at UC Berkeley. The dolls, representing different regions of Sweden, were created for and displayed in the Swedish Pavilion at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, PPIE.
Princess cake and drinks will be served. National costume encouraged.
When: Saturday, June 6. Doors open at 5:00 pm and the concert program starts at 5:30 pm.Program ends at 7 pm.
Where: Palace of Fine Arts, 3601 Lyon Street, San Francisco

In cooperation with the World Arts West, producers of the SF Ethnic Dance Festival. There will be a SF Ethnic Dance Festival performance at 8 PM in the Palace of Fine Arts Theater following the National Day festivities. This is a separate program from the National Day Concert celebration, and tickets for this event can be purchased online at: www.sfethnicdancefestival.org.
